July Board meeting

The Meadowview Christian Academy board met on July 24, 2025, for their regularly scheduled meeting. The following items were discussed and reviewed:

• Introductions and Attendance Board members and guests were introduced. A selected candidate from the administration was introduced and brought before the board, a first-grade teacher applicant. Present to answer questions regarding her faith, teaching philosophy, and other expectations. The board voted to approve her as the new first-grade teacher.

• Staffing and Classroom Support The K2/3 class will need aide support at the beginning of the school year and again in December due to planned leave. Mrs. Lytle will work to fill the position by hiring a new aide. The aides in the building will assist and float between rooms during the first few days of school in the circumstance where no one is found to assist.

• Contract Changes & Legal Review Teacher and aide contracts updates are in final review to ensure legal language is self-contained and does not reference external documents. Sending them to the school’s legal counsel for review.

• New & Shifting Roles

  • STS & Account Manager One existing person expressed interest in taking on STS responsibilities under volunteering conditions. The board is working on a written proposal for formal review and final discussion.

• Office & Administrative Help Ongoing search for part-time or full-time secretary continues. Several inquiries have come through Indeed and from school families. Admin team proposed a hybrid system, board expressed in person-needs. TBD.

• School Financials & Budget Review Budget overview was presented, including tuition income, donations, and current expenses. Enrollment & any account discrepancies were reviewed.

• Financial Aid Committee Both due to the Boards earlier planning initiative and to increased inquiries, a committee was requested to review and recommend aid packages. Wes recommended Johnny to lead. An interim meeting will be called to approve awards with the Board.

• Teacher Payroll Update Board President is coordinating with team to finalize teacher payroll updates earlier this school year than previous year.

• Facilities & Supplies Board team is coordinating the purchase of a new refrigerator + a small stipend for essential school facility items.

• Script / RaiseRight Program Summary report of earnings TBD and follow up with discrepancies.

• Board Changes Wesley (hey that's me) formally announced his withdrawal from the board due to availability. He will continue supporting the school remotely in the interim. Donnie Shipe will now serve as Board Secretary.

• WIX Payment A payment was processed on July 24 for the school’s website, previously paid through donations that needs added to the on-going budgeting predictions.
